Cats With Thumbs

I saw this video over at Sue's fantastic blog I Got Stuff On My Mind and I swear, I laughed so hard that I was crying.

Since I've spent the good part of the morning removing all of the cute knick-knacks from the shelves next to the sink in the kitchen because Pip, the tuxedo kitty has learned to climb them, I think it may already be a reality. And did I mention that she fought back by removing the refrigerator magnets from the fridge with her paws, sending my paper treasures flying all over the kitchen? This commercial is completely based in reality. What do cats have? Lots of time. What do they do with it? Hatch evil plots. You can't convince me otherwise.

You see this?

One day, Ranch Dressing will go silent and you will know that I'm right.

Anyhoo... At the moment, we're still currently up so enjoy the video! - and thanks to Sue for letting me share!

cute commercial! my older cat eats cords like it's her job, especially if her food bowl isn't well stocked. in fact i just got my internet back up and working yesterday after moving and she already 1/2 ate through the DSL cord. thanks cat. now i need to buy a new one. UGH.

Shrinky Ink: Ha! I'm telling you! An additional income wouldn't hurt around here either.

art deco dame: Isn't it? I love it!

Barbara: Me too. They got all West Side Story on us. And yep, three mouses total.

Lauren Atom: Oh gosh, mine too! I can't even list all of the cords that she has eaten through. Thin ones. Thick ones. Dangerous ones. I guess they just like it feels? It feels expensive, that's how.

Eartha!! That was a hilarious commercial! The best part of this whole thing is that Clark, the former foster kitten (who now lives with my parents), actually HAS opposable thumbs. No lie. He can pick up milk rings one-pawed and open sealed plastic bags. It's amazing!

Oh, and Pip looks like an incredibly naughty kitty. I have a couple of those of those myself. :)

Ruth: Isn't it awesome? I think I've watched it twenty times. And you KNOW I'm dying to see Clark's thumbs. Open sealed plastic bags?? Heck, I want to see that too! WOW!

And yes, Pip is my poltergeist. She does things to get my attention like a small child. She'll do it and wait to see if she hears me coming. She broke two items from the sink shelves within a week. Standing on her hind legs and reaching higher than I ever imagined. As you know, naughty kitties keep you on the move.

I LOVE the fat Persian with his tongue sticking out, doing needle point! My house is overrun with felines too. I have to take special measures to keep my fat fur ball from shedding allover everything that I love. No place is safe from the cat hairs!

That one made me giggle too! And I'm telling you - you speak the gospel truth about cat hair. I tell the Mister when company comes for dinner, "Do NOT serve anyone anything without checking the dish for cat hair first!"
I live in fear of it. If your cats like brushing though, I can't recommend the Furminator enough. Takes off tons!

Sara: Oh yeah, you've met Pip!

Rae: Ha! That's how YouTube sucks ya in! I haven't seen the massage one but will look it up right now. And oh gosh, that bride was so lovely, I bet. Kitties...they DO find the best things to break.

Sugarhellandbuterknife: Yay! Thanks for commenting! I'm glad that it could make y'all laugh. :)
