It's 2012. We should all have cameras in our eyes by now anyway.

My trusty little camera has decided to pursue it's own vision and is taking photos like this now. It looks like some kind of cool effect but this is the portrait of it's dying days.

I can use the Mister's fancy camera anytime that I want but you know how it feels when you lose a trusty friend? That crazy cranky camera has been so many places with me. I document this cyclone as the end of an era. I used to be younger and it used to smell like brand new plastic and promise.

So long, little friend with your annoying "beep.beep" sound that always alerted store clerks that I was documenting something that I wasn't supposed to be. And your overwhelming weight that ripped the lining from many a cute vintage purse. And your thirty second video capability that proved that I was way behind on technology.

It was just you and me against the world with our self-portrait shots where my arm was never quite long enough and your three second delay that meant that more than likely, I'd have a story to tell without a photo to accompany it. Even with your delicate nature, I loved you and felt like I could come close to documenting what wanderlust feels like - what strangeness lies in humanity - what curiously fashioned junk store knick-knack would call out to my heart with it's misplaced anthropomorphic empathy next.
I pour libations into the Earth.

Bye bye, camera! Ugh, I am not good with camera technology. I need to buy a new one to take better pictures for the blog, but I know that I will understand and therefore use exactly none of the features.

It's funny how quickly we get accustomed to technology an then how quickly it becomes outdated. I'm in the market for a new camera myself; I don't think it will have any major impact on my photography skills but I think it's worth a shot. Please let us now if you find one that you can recommend.

Oh, I felt a bit like that too, what my last digital camera (or as I liked to call it, The Giant Beast) finally gave up the ghost.
Wait til you get a new one, though! It's a joyful thing! Tiny,light-as-air, spectacular photos...you'll love it :-)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember when my special camera friend finally left me. It was so outdated and I had better cameras, but I still wept bitterly when it finally died. I still have its little lifeless body in a carboard box on top of my computer desk. I was going to make a pinhole camera, but it hurts me to think of having to cut into it. D:
Did just see you over at Caker Cooking? Seriously, you're like a bad penny.

I know the feeling of being one with a camera. I have gotten better cameras over the years, but for some reason it seems like I loose the ability to take decent pictures when I switch....I feel like you become one with the camera and you learn how to take pictures with that individual camera, once it is gone, its like learning to ride a bike again.

I love how it's given dance-floor swirls to those shoes. And can we talk about those shoes? Yowza, I think I love them. It may be the soft focus and all, but I think they're probably really cute in focus too!

Ha ha! My camera's so big people ask me if I'm workin for the Tomball Potpourri. I just tell folks that I'm takin pictures of stuff to show my hubby what I want him to buy for me. It is a true statement, I would like him to buy it ;) That keeps em at bay.

ugh, so sorry to hear about your camera. I am kinda worried about my camera too, as I have gotten SO used to it and it's a Kodak and well they don't make Kodaks anymore. Sometimes the lens shuts down weird and you just never know.......

Can you write my cameras eulogy if it ever dies??? :)

Sorry. Was that camera the one that looked like a silver brick? We had our photo taken with Jack with that camera.

At least Santa knows what to bring you this year...

:( Oh, I am so sorry.

I still have my A80, though. Maybe I'll spray-paint it a funky colour and call it 'art'.

I'm just glad you're back.

I am quite the victim of anthropomorphism myself.

Im having trouble not putting up the little Christmas ornaments I don't really like. I feel sorry for them sitting in the bottom of the plastic bin.

What is wrong with us? Or are we just good peeps?

Wow, that pic is certainly dizzying! It looks like you are spinning wildly while taking a picture. Now if you TRIED to do that, of course you'd fall flat!!! Good luck on a new camera!!

I honestly loved my first digi camera like a family member...my latest one...though very high tech, I cannot figure out, so I end up using my phone 99% of the time. also "I pour libations into the Earth." is my catchphrase for 2013.

Where ARE our camera eyes? We should demand answers. Otherwise, I think we are going to get let down on that one like we did on the whole "flying cars" thing.
