"That's how we ended up with eighteen cats and a squirrel"

Things are still spiraling out of control at Camp Stinky Flooding Water so I thought I'd leave y'all with this video that reader friend Christa sweetly left for us to see.  I'm always a sucker for stories about mama animals adopting babies of another species so this kitty cat and squirrel combo definitely gave me smiles.

I want a squirrel that purrs! And isn't that just the sweetest couple? I wish that they'd let me come live with them for a while.

From the home front: All of your well wishes, words of wisdom (and offers of libations) on my last post have been a bright spot in the storm. The insurance adjustor will be here in twenty minutes to tell us if any of our damage will be covered. Y'all send good thoughts and positive vibes. We just met with the flooring guys and learned that we're in for the long haul on getting that part fixed.

Until next time,
x's and o's,
Eartha

Awww, I knew you'd love it- glad it perked you up a little! Sorry to hear about all the stressful stuff going on with the ranch lately. It's so heartbreaking after all the work you've put into everything! Best of luck getting everything back to normal. :)

Well thank goodness there was a happy ending. I know some cats where if you offered them a baby squirrel, well, it would be more lunch than Brady bunch, put it that way!

Fingers crossed for the insurance x

Water damage is horrible. Drain and sewer are more so. So sorry for your all the headaches you are and will go through to get this all fixed and finished. I think it is ironic you suffered this trauma right after posting the story and photos of the abandoned airport in its ghostly state. I am sending good thoughts your way.

Fingers crossed for the insurance - and a pox on the flooring guys if they don't help quickly and cheaply. I will hunt them down and put voodoo on them for not helping you.

WOW. The squirrel is cute but just catching up on all the info on the flooding is staggering. Hope that adjuster writes a BIG check.

I can't even imagine your frustration right now. Hopefully the insurance covers it. I've got my fingers crossed for you! :)

Life stinks sometimes, and then you see a video of a cat that's adopted a baby squirrel and it kinda restores your faith in the world. Fingers crossed for your insurance stuff!

Wow, I would like a squirrel that purrs, too! What a charming video—a friend in AZ is going through some difficulty, so I shall send it to her forthwith, Eartha. Thank you for thinking about making your readers happy in the midst of all the trauma. *hug*

I do hope things there are rectified quickly and without too much pain...or cost. Ugh. :(

Aw I kept hoping there was a miracle recovery from it. Hoping the best from the insurance folks and for your sanity. Hang in there.

I've never heard of a squirrel/cat relationship that didn't end in bloodshed! How sweet is this video. "18 cats and a squirrel" sounds like sitcom material-- I can't believe the squirrel can purr!

Bless it's little heart!!! So freaking cute. I wonder if they will be able to litter train it!

This baby squirrel lives in Mississippi? Thank god these people got him--anyone else in this state would've eaten him.
