The Dental Dance

I got my poor old wisdom teeth ripped willy-nilly from my skull today.

Ohhhhhhhhh Ugggggh. Blarrrrrgh.

I hope that my Vicodin fueled dreams are much like this dental dance:

Yech -dentistry! I hope you're back up to speed soon. I haven't had mine out; they said I would lose what little wisdom I had without them and would end up completely hopeless. Do you get to keep them?

I had all mine removed 32 years ago. I had a great oral surgeon and was eating steak the next day.

I wish you an equally speedy recovery!

Wacky Tacky: I know! Dentistry is a gross proposition sometimes. I guess no dentistry would be worse though. And thank God for anesthesia. Can you imagine back when they'd just give people a slug of whiskey and start yanking? Ohmygod. I forgot to ask to keep them. One of my pals told me to make a necklace out of them. I guess I'll have to buy one on QVC now.

Dana: Steak the next day? Wow! You're braver than me. I'm on the pudding. mashed potatoes. pudding. mashed potatoes. repeat. diet.

Hope those cheeks aren't too swollen out for you and that you are feeling ok today!

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Hate dental work. When I got mine pulled, I looked like Richard Nixon for a week. (At least, that's what my mom said. I was too out of it to really notice. Or care.) Great excuse to have lots of milkshakes! :-)

Hope you're feeling better soon - it's an excuse for cocktails though, right?

Wow, I LOVE this clip. Linking dentistry with bartending is truly bizarre, even for the 1930s. What film is this from?

Hope by now you're feeling better. I got mine out in college and it sucked hardcore and I'm like MVP at surgery. Just invest heavy in soup and Popsicles and Gatorade

So timely! Having just spent 3 weeks in Infected Root Canal Land, I can safely say I feel your pain. Hope you're feeling better now!

I had mine out and went out to party that night!

Sick girl, I was.

Take care of yourself.

Hope you are feeling better. According to the video, martinis are good for your health! Better go have one!

I immediately asked to keep mine after they were yanked out! I love them. I just had numbing novicaine shots and the extractions were painless! Hope you had an easy one, too! (I wrote a post on mine years back explaining that the only pain involved was the ticket on the way home.)

Get better soon! Eat lots of jello!

Had mine out years ago, too, and aside from the anesthesia making me a bit pokey, I remember healing quickly. Hope your recovery is uneventful as well.

Dang, I would give anything to time travel back to the prop departments of these old musical PSAs! How on earth did they come up with a dozen giant toothbrushes???

Hey lady!
That's the WORST!
I had all four of mine out when I was 18 and I ate nothing but chicken broth and Jell-O for days!
The stupidest part about whole experience was that only half of my face swelled up! I looked like a half-drunken chipmunk for a week!
Argghhh!
Hope you are feeling a little better today!
Hopefully the tooth fairy treats you well with those whoppers! ;)

I'm jealous,I have to get a cavity filled tomorrow and they don't give you Vicodin for cavities. It's like going to a birthday party and not being sent home with a goodie bag. I guess I'll have to have my half a coffee cup of red wine like I have with dinner to get my buzz on for the pre-Xmas prep

They also screwed me by sending my dentist Ive had a crush on for 2 years to the other office. I can't win!
