The New Folks

I found two more big portraits today. Which I needed like a hole in the head...but I can't resist. Especially if they have animals in them.

This is Elaine.

There was no mention of who the following family is but it is just so 1970's to me.
And hello, collie!

I'm sure that when I'm an old lady one day with no children to correct me, I'll be absolutely convinced that all of these anonymous people that I pick up are actual family members. I'll wander around and around the ranch, up and down the portrait hall while lamenting about how they never come to visit me.

Wow, that was depressing! Hope that y'all are having a great weekend so far!

Until next time,
x's and o's,
Eartha

Ha! Love it. A 70s imaginary family.
Great photos - good scores!
I can't understand why people sell off family photos. Maybe they think they're just too kitsch to have lying around.

Oh my gosh you are so funny.
Reminds me of a friend who had a pretty picture frame on her shelf...in it was a photo of the most handsome man. I asked her who the dude was, and she said it came with the frame, and she liked to pretend it was her husband. I don't know what her real husband thought of that! ;-)

I would kill for Elaine's hair. Really it's just not fair.

Family/pet photos are so sweet. My older cousins (who never had kids) had their picture taken with their Persian cat. That would have been in the early 80's. It was my favorite picture at my Gran's house.

You should make up names and back-stories for all of these folks. :)

My husband has this framed B&W photo of a Depression-era girl holding a doll. It was hanging in his apt. when we started dating in 1995 and has moved with us multiple times since then. I always assumed it was a picture of his mom as a little girl. Only in the past year or so did I learn it's actually just some random picture that he found somewhere and thought was neat! :)

I love it when pets are included in family portraits! One of these days I'll have to post photos of me in my wedding gown posing with my family dog Casey....sad to say the marriage died long before Casey did.

Haha these are great! To think that Trudy never comes by, never calls. Of course, her work as a hair model in New York city keeps her busy...
