I'm crazy for JD McPherson's vibe and his songs makes me swear that I'm listening to a great old record from back in the day. In order to get the amazing "I've been listening to this record for decades (and had to buy a new copy because the grooves wore off of the first one)" sound on this album, he and his folks used vintage amps, microphones and a 1960's reel-to-reel recorder. All analog. Because, hello. Yes.

I'm going, WHEE!
WOW! That was awesome. I believe that's Jimmy Sutton's recording studio. I know he collects vintage recording equipment. Gotta get me a J.D. McPherson CD.
Wow!
Make me want to jump up and do the twist! Hope the thought didn't scare ya.
Yay, isn't he the greatest, we stumbled onto him in the back of one of Chucky's hot rod magazines a few years ago! We play his solo album & the albums from his old band The Starkweather Boys in the tattoo shop pretty much non-stop, it's perfect mood music for Chucky when he's working. We're actually going to see him on the 4 of June & cannot wait!
We finally got to see him in Las Vegas! He puts on a great live show too! Fortunately, he is paying out our way very soon...can't wait!
Great stuff, I will have to check out more of his music!
It was cool to meet you at the blogger event this week!
