The Spoils

Well, today is my Mom's last day in Music City and the thrifting, scrounching and junk scoring is all done. We had fun today spreading out our loot and seeing what we ended up with. It was good to have a shopping buddy and along with Mister Kitsch, we even hit Kentucky for a day. She did indeed find some Pyrex pieces and since I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I just wracked up on my general doo-whacka-doo-um-wow-ness.

Here is the spread!

Christmas cuties:

Dolly! and Pyrex! and choir boys! oh my!

Plus a rather twisted cigarette dispenser and my favorite find - a $3.00 horse with horseshoe bracelet

Some old household products that were shoved in the back of a kitchen cabinet at an estate sale

Vegetable platter with chick and a massive Smoky Mountain post card

Yummy gingham and polka dots and plaids and smocking

Porter and the Kennedy family (and finally...an aqua dish drainer!)

And are you ready for the wild card of the bunch?

Put on your sunglasses, people!

Enormous Christmas Gilded Man!

(Um...Mister Kitsch hasn't seen THIS one yet!)

I could swear that I have seen him in a magazine or craft book but can't figure out where. If anyone knows, please let me know as I am wracking my brain. He glistens in the sun, you betcha.

Alrighty then, I'm off to make my Mom eat cake with me! I hope that your weekends are going great!

Until next time,
x's and o's,
Eartha

WHAT A GREAT HAUL!

I recently bought that Kennedy picture too! Except, mine is an old 8x10 glossy in a leather frame. I had to have it, and think about in whose home it stood for many years, dusted carefully with love.

The coffin nails holder is PRICELESS! Wowee!

I was at a rummage sale this morning, and saw SOMETHING PYREX in an ORIGINAL BOX. I wasn't sure what it was yet, but I knew if it was still in the box, it must be good. I was about to grab it and consider getting it for you, when someone swooped in ahead of me, grabbed the box, and RAN off! I never got to even see WHAT THE HECK IT WAS!

I bet you have had a great time with your Mom! My Mom would faint if she saw me buying all this stuff!

Dolly and Porter in the same weekend??!?!
Great haul. I love all the Christmas goodies.
And the dresses look really sweet too.

Wowza! You girls really did haul in quite a catch ... although it wouldn't be quite the same without Enormous Christmas Gilded Man. He really makes the scene!

"VIV" Floor wax? Rock on! And whatever has the bird...Oh, anything gingham is great. Wonderful finds, you ladies did so well!

And your CHRISTMAS MAN! He's fabulous! Has he been named?

Despite being exhausted, you have me wanting to pile back into my car for a Goodwill run.

Awesome awesome as they say here in Arizona. It's so awesome, you have to say it twice.

Will there be a show down between evil Santa and Enormous Christmas Gilded Man or will ECGM use his powers for good?

1959sharon: Oh my gosh! In the box? Now we’ll never know what was in there...sad!
I can’t get over that coffin nails holder either. I’ve never seen anything like that! Isn’t that the sweetest picture of the Kennedys? This plate looked like it had been hung up somewhere forever. I’m like you - I can imagine it in someone’s home for decades.

Your Mom would faint? Ha! My Mom would faint if I brought NOTHING home! : D

Lynn: I know, right? Dolly and Porter go together like peanut butter and chocolate.
And thanks! I don’t usually find that much. I guess it was because we went everywhere - and twice. : )

Charm and Poise: Doesn’t he? He’s making the scene in my garage right now - which doesn’t dull his charm any. He makes that scene everywhere.

Jen: Don’t you love that name? I do. I’d never seen that before. I haven’t worked up the nerve to crack it open and smell it yet. That gingham with the bird is a little baby’s dress. Of course I don’t have kids but gingham + birds = two of my favorite things. I guess Pip will get to wear it! The Christmas man hasn’t been named yet. I’m slower on that one than usual, I’ll admit. I hope that you had a good weekend and that you did indeed hit that Goodwill!

Catherine: Ha! I like those double “awesome”s! And thank you. I missed you too! : D
Hopefully, I can hold down both Flickr and the blog as I really love both.

Sherrie: Ha! You know, I can kind of see ECGM being the one person? who can take down Satan Claws for good!

Averyl: Thanks! I’m just starting to find places for all of my stuff - sometimes a challenge but a fun challenge! That’s so funny - I got that matchbook for YOU. I should have known that the Christmas Queen would have one! : D

Straight Talking Mama! : Thank you! Believe it or not - Mister Kitsch likes the Gilded Man too....wow.

Sara: Thanks! In normal Mom form, she gave me that gorgeous pink Pyrex bowl - my first pink Pyrex ever. Ain’t Dolly grand? I’m thinking of redoing my recently redone bathroom and hanging Dolly and Porter in there.

Ms. Crabass: Oh my gosh, Kerry...I love that screen name! You totally should try to make one. They look pretty easy - if you have a pair of thick gloves. He’ll cut ya! And thanks! Thanks for stopping by and please come again. Hugs!

Atomic Mama: Oops! I completely missed your comment! Sorry! :(

Are things decent where you are on the junking front?
