Whoo doggies

Hey all! Things are super busy here so I'm stopping by quickly to say hey and to cover some bases.

1. Earlier in the week, when I posted the Fashion Shack  (Faaashion Shaack!) video, I didn't realize that the video was suggesting afterwards that you might perhaps like to view a video of....how shall I say this? Donkeys on their wedding night. Complete with graphic photo. I reset the settings and hopefully, no matter what YouTube seems to take us all for, they'll bug off and quit making smarmy suggestions as to how we should spend our time. Shudder.

2. I recently posted about the adorable little dogs that we found out while putting up lost dog signs. Kind folks have contacted me to see if we've lost a dog. We have not but are actively involved in two lost dog searches in our area. We're currently an all kitty household and are dipping our toes in the dog foster pool. Tomorrow, we've picking up the pups from their temporary home and going on a play date! I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not excited. Their current foster sent me some of their professional portraits today. I'm dying at the cuteness.

It's hard to believe that little Robin used to look like this two weeks ago.
He was so sad that he wouldn't even let you look him in the eye. Poor boo.

Let's see...what else? Oh! I finally got this pair of shoes that I've been wanting since I was a kid. One of my stylish Aunts used to have these in the 70's and I always loved them so much.

Flashy gold with flashy jewels. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. They showed up shoved in my mailbox today. I want to egg my mailman. He always wedges things in my mailbox that shouldn't be put in mailboxes.  But I'm scared to confront him because I'm afraid that he'll just..I don't know...wedge my packages into someone else's mailbox just for spite. If you also want to look like my stylish Aunt and you wear a size seven, my friend Karen over at Small Earth Vintage has a pair listed right now. She lists some really good stuff. Bookmark the heck out of her site.

There have been some pretty good search words bringing people to Ranch Dressing this week including "Bathing in Ranch Dressing" and "Girls in Short Skirts Playing Cornhole" and "Creepy Boy Eating In The Bathroom".

This thrift store find is about the closest thing that I can provide to any of those searches. He's not having lunch but he's certainly creepy. And a horrible shot.

Oh lordy, this post is going nowhere. I guess what I'm here to say is that I do NOT promote donkey stag films and that I have new shoes. And that I'm a sap for puppies. And that lots of people leave here disappointed.

I wanted to add that I am waaaay behind on answering comments but that I get really excited when you leave them. They mean a whole lot to me. They always make me smile or giggle and often, teach me new things that I didn't know.  I apologize for the annoying "word captcha" that you have to do to leave a comment. I hate those things but they're a necessary evil. Especially after some spam program left hundreds of comments on my posts about condoms that I had to delete one by one by one.

I'd especially like to thank Jessica and Jeannie who left such sweet comments this week that had me doing the happy cry! And for Hannah for sending a link to another nut art masterpiece that is now on my wishlist. For those of you who have blogs and don't have links to your profiles, please do. Quite often, after reading a comment from someone new, I'm just dying to run over to your blogs and see what's up in your world!

Also, to those of you who kindly donated towards Minnie's Chip-In fund, she had her first surgery today and her Mom, Barbara reports that she's doing great!

Until next time,
x's and o's,
Eartha

I also hate it when they cram my stuff in the mail box, that's why I have a huge one now, I got the biggest one you can buy at the store, no more problems. P.S. the dogs are super cute! That's a very nice thing you are doing.

Just don't let those cute pups dig for good bones in your sofa!

Donkey stag film? How did I miss THAT suggestion? My eyes must have been too full of laughter tears from The Faaaashion Shaaaaack commercial to notice.

How exciting that you'll be fostering! Those doggies are ridiculously adorable. My husband and I have been foster parents to ten kittens over the years. Fostering is a great experience.

i found a walnut art magnet at an estate sale yesterday that i can't wait to show you! it isn't QUITE as good as the squirrels, but i love the possibilities.
oh those doggies, that before shot of robin really brings a tear to my eye.
i never get very weird searches on my blog, BUT last week i finally got one. it was "big breasted native american woman." hahah, i was thrilled!

I've been considering becoming a doggie foster too! I adopted my dog from a rescue where she was fostered, and she's awesome. BUT we live in an apartment, with a cat, so it gets complicated. I'm totally behind other people doing it though!

By the by, I bought a picture of a cat from you like 5 or 6 years ago...maybe more! It's still hanging in my bedroom. I'm glad you're blogging, your posts are a dee-lite!

Trina44: Thanks! I'm kind of an animal nut. I've seen those enormous mailboxes. Maybe it's time that we do that too.

Tami: Ha! Yeah, think before you act with the postal service. They have the power to make sure that you never see mail again!

Cedar: Ha! Oh god, I'd forgotten about that. Do not let dogs near sofa. EVER.

Stacy: Aww! Kitten fostering! Now THAT is some cute business right there!

Rae: You KNOW that I have to see that nut! And wow, big breasted Native American women. That's very specific. I wonder how they found Say It Ain't So from that??

Brigette: Wait! Was it the cat on the birdbath? And yeah, it's hard to foster when you don't have your own space and have landlords to answer to.

It IS a cat in a bird bath! I love it! My husband saw and was like "I don't get it." There's nothing to get if you don't like enormous white cats gazing into bird baths.

Ha! I totally remember that picture. It is really cool! I always wondered who that cat belonged to. Whoever it was, they sure loved it.

Congrats and bless you for fostering. Small dogs sometimes chew when they are anxious - peanut butter can do wonders to keep them busy. If you don't have a KOng, you can smear PB all over a dish and they will work that sucker over. Have fun - cute shoes and that print is... well, good luck with the kinds of folks it brings with their google searches :)

Yay! I am so glad you got your own pair of jeweled sandals! (and thanks for the shout-out)

I am also glad that the only disturbing thing I saw when I watched the Fashion Shack video was the (disturbingly awesome) commercial itself.

Those little pups are so cute, and Lucy approves. She is also a rescue dog--well rescued from the local pound--and turns 14 today. All dogs are different, but Lucy gets along very well with cats--is, in fact, fascinated by them. Here's to your dog fostering going well!

It is literally AMAZING how much better those little pups look, and in such a short amount of time too! I can't wait to hear a full report on your play date!

Those shoes are completely amazing girl!

And, I completely missed out on the 'Donkey Wedding Night' too and I'm sure that was a good thing! :)

Glad I missed the donkey wedding...looks like I dodged a bullet there. Re: pups, they are so freakin' cute now! Glad they got cleaned up and look much happier now. Have fun at your doggie play date!

"Donkey wedding night" is the most tasteful way to refer to well...donkey wedding nights that I've ever heard!

You saved those dogs' lives! You, girl, are a modern-day hero!
